Björn Pinxter was born on October 23, 2001 in Castricum. From 2022 he received composition lessons from Tijmen van Tol and music theory from Nicholas Papadimitriou. He is currently studying composition at the Conservatory in Amsterdam. From an early age he was creative, both in the visual arts (drawing and painting) and in music. He played the piano from the age of 6 and composed from the age of 14. During his high school years he dreamed of doing something in music later. After his final exams, he first completed a furniture maker’s training. When he started this training at the age of 17, he loved working with his hands, but the craftsmanship and targeted skills required for this profession were not what suited him. He did, however, gain a lot of experience in entrepreneurship, craftsmanship and creativity. This encouraged him to explore how he could continue in music after this study. He eventually ended up at the Amsterdam Conservatory for the Composition course. There he is currently developing as a composer and he is extremely motivated and inspired to find out, together with his teachers, how (in what style of music) he wants to become proficient. What inspires him at the moment is mainly the visual, cinematic and fierce movements in music. For him, music is movement, it moves from the beginning to the end; how, that depends on the composer.
