The Dutch versatile musician Monique Krüs loves to connect and engage. In addition to the more traditional soprano repertoire, she enjoys singing contemporary music. Her colorful compositions include opera, musical theater, chamber music, songs, works for choir, music for media. Much of her work contains educational elements.
Monique Krüs studied psychology at Utrecht University, combined with a preparatory year of classical guitar studies at the Utrecht Conservatory. At the same time, she had her own jazz trio and wrote and produced the title song of Oscar winner Mike van Diem’s first film.
After this, she auditioned for solo voice at the Utrecht Conservatory, where she discovered her love for opera and new music. She completed her studies with a year of opera classes at the Mozarteum in Salzburg.
As a composer she is completely self-taught.
