Ramin Amin Tafreshi

Ramin Amin Tafreshi (1992) is an Iranian composer and pianist. He is currently studying classical music composition at the Conservatory of Amsterdam with Willem Jeths and Wim Henderickx. He is a composer who is mainly interested in instrumental and vocal music. Moreover, he explores different ways to combine literature, film, theater and dance in his music.

He received his first piano lessons at the age of five. Later he received advanced music studies and composition lessons from “Mehran Rouhani”. After receiving his bachelor’s degree in solid state physics in 2015, he continued his unfinished studies in the master’s program in music composition at Tehran University of Art and received lessons from “Amin Honarmand” and “Mohammad-Reza Tafazzoli”. In 2017 he decided to continue his studies in Amsterdam, where he could experience an international and multicultural academic atmosphere.

He was also a composition assistant to “Hamed Sabet”, a well-known film composer in Iran. This collaboration led to him becoming the composer for the film “Ranna’s Silence”, in addition to five other films in which he was an assistant composer.
