The German composer Olaf Krause (1981) played several instruments as a child and composed his first pieces of music at the age of eleven. Nevertheless, he first completed his blacksmith training in Sydney before deciding to become a musician in 2008. He studied early music for four years at the Academy Burg Fürsteneck in Eiterfeld (Germany), specializing in the performance practice of music from the 9th to 15th centuries. As a baritone and hurdy-gurdy player he performed at Early Music concerts in the Netherlands and Belgium. In 2014 he decided to study composition and enrolled at the Musicube Academy in Bonn. Since 2015 he has been studying at the ArtEZ School of the Arts in Arnhem, for the Bachelor of Composition of Film and Theater Music.
