Melle Heij

Netherlands, 1997

The Dutch composer Melle Hahn was born in Haarlem in 1997. At the age of six he took his first piano lessons and also started composing. Melle was admitted to the Amsterdam Conservatory in 2014, where he is currently studying a 3rd year Bachelor with Willem Jeths. Some of his compositions have already been performed: ‘Eine Nacht im Gnomenwald’ (2013) by the ASKO/Schönberg Ensemble, Désolation (2015) for violin and chamber orchestra by the Score Collective conducted by Ed Spanjaard in the Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ, Stabat Mater (2015-16) of the Neon Choir conducted by Fokko Oldenhuis with organist Laurens de Man in the Orgelpark in Amsterdam.
