Alba Rosa Viëtor Composition Competition 2020/2021

Prizes
The winning composers will be awarded the Alba Rosa Viëtor Prize of €3,000, and/or the Audience Prize of €1,000.

Final
The Jury has selected four works to be premiered on Thursday 25 March2021, at Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ, Amsterdam (The Netherlands). Performers are the internationally acclaimed musicians Esther Valentin mezzo-soprano, Dana Zemtsov viola, Ella van Poucke violoncello, Lars Wouters van den Oudenweijer clarinet and Nicolas van Poucke piano.

Jury
Chairman of the Jury is Dutch composer Willem Jeths. He will be assisted by the English composer Judith Weir, Greek composer Calliope Tsoupaki, Polish composer Hanna Kulenty and artistic leader Reinild Mees.

Finalists 
The four finalists of the Alba Rosa Viëtor Composition Competition 2020/2021 are Germán José Mercado (Argentina) with the composition the bird said“Nevermore”,Giorgio Francesco Dalla Villa (Italy) with Life Doesn’t Frighten Me, Otto Wanke (Chech Republic) with Inner Views and Primo Ish-Hurwitz (The Netherlands) with Listen.
